TikTok

Send your store's events to TikTok ads through the TikTok Events API.

Connecting TikTok lets Flowfy send every purchase, add-to-cart and page view from your store straight to TikTok's servers, so TikTok can credit sales to the ads that produced them even when the browser pixel never fires.

Before you start

  • Access to your TikTok Ads Manager account
  • Enough rights at Business Center level to create a token. If the button appears to do nothing, this is why.
  • A Flowfy source already connected. If you have not done that, start with Getting started.

You will end up with two values: a Pixel Code and an Access Token.

TikTok shows the access token once. Refresh the page and it is gone for good, and you would have to generate a new one. Paste it into Flowfy before you leave that page.

Part 1 · Get your credentials from TikTok

1. Open Events Manager

In TikTok Ads Manager, open Tools and choose Events.

2. Select your web data source and open Settings

Choose the pixel your store already uses, then open its Settings tab. Use the same pixel your website already reports to — server events and browser events belong on one pixel, so TikTok can recognise them as a single sale rather than two.

3. Copy the Pixel Code

Pixel Details at the top of this Settings page shows the identifier. TikTok's screens call it Pixel ID; Flowfy's field is called Pixel Code. It is one value with two names.

4. Generate the access token

Still on Settings, scroll to Events API and click Generate Access Token under Access Token Generation. Copy it immediately — TikTok's own note says the token will not be stored by TikTok.

Part 2 · Create the destination in Flowfy

1. Start a new destination

In Flowfy, open Destinations and click Create destination.

2. Choose TikTok

3. Connect your store

Tick the source whose events should flow to TikTok, then continue.

4. Name it and paste both values

Give the destination a name you will recognise later, put the identifier from step 3 into Pixel Code, and the token from step 4 into Access Token. Then click Create.

Part 3 · Check that it's working

Place a test order, then open the destination in Flowfy and watch Live events. The order should appear within seconds.

On TikTok's side, open Events Manager and check the Diagnostics tab for the same data source. It reports what TikTok received and flags anything malformed.

If something goes wrong

Nothing arrives in Flowfy's live events. The problem is between your store and Flowfy. Check that your source is connected and active.

Generate Access Token does nothing. Your Business Center role is not permitted to create tokens. Ask an administrator to generate one and send it to you.

You lost the token before pasting it. It cannot be recovered. Generate a new one and update the destination in Flowfy — the old one stops working the moment you replace it.

TikTok reports no server events. The Pixel Code belongs to a different data source than the one you are looking at. Re-copy it from the pixel you expect the events on.

Sales are counted twice. Your browser pixel and Flowfy are on different pixels. Both must use the same Pixel Code for TikTok to recognise the two reports as one sale.
